ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Jeni’s needs a skilled Accounting Manager to oversee and operate its Accounting department.

This individual will oversee daily activities, monitor workloads, and ensure timely and accurate reporting, as well as develop and implement new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department. The ideal candidate for this supervisory position should be tried and true Accounting professionals, with at least four years’ Accounting experience, working knowledge of GAAP, and strong computer literacy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Prepare standard month end journal entries and perform related account reconciliations
  • Maintain Financial Statements and Chart of Accounts
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 4 years accounting experience
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Solid accounting skills with a working knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to apply accounting theory to practical applications
  • Strong computer literacy with a demonstrable mastery of Excel
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong problem solving skills

Annual Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is searching for an Assistant Shopkeeper to join the team overseeing one of our Atlanta scoop shops!

A Jeni’s Assistant Shopkeeper is one of the key pieces of our growing company, helping manage a team of 15-30 with a constant focus on providing the world’s best ice cream and the world’s best customer service. The ideal Shopkeeper is a self-motivated, team focused, and upbeat individual who is able to problem solve quickly while remaining calm in sometimes hectic (and exciting) situations.

BAKERY ASSISTANT MANAGER

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is searching for an Assistant Manager for our Bakery Kitchen, located at 1145 Chesapeake Ave, Suite E.  We need someone who can inspire and motivate a strong team of nutters, lidders and jammers making Jeni’s special recipe macaroons and sandwiches.

The Bakery Assistant Manager reports directly to the Bakery Manager and will work closely with the shift leads in the kitchen to drive daily production.  This includes making the world’s best ice cream sandwiches and keeping everyone safe while making them.

Job Responsibilities, include but are not limited to, the following:

  • Must be familiar with all products and recipes in the bakery, including how both unfinished and finished products should look and taste, how long tasks should take and the quality standards associated with each recipe.
  • Lead by example in the kitchen to help team establish an efficient workflow, sense of urgency and a positive attitude.
  • Lead staff in completion of daily production schedule—assigning tasks, helping establish efficient work flow, being present to answer any questions and solve problems.
  • Manage Plex (ERP), recording production and inventory accuracy.
  • Supervise completion of tasks amongst other team members and report any problems or concerns to Manager.
  • Assist Manager with special projects or process improvements and communication to the team.
  • Assist with performance management, reviews, employee check-ins and shift huddles.
  • Some office and computer administration, roughly 20% of your weekly hours.

BRAND AMBASSADORS FOR JENI’S SPLENDID ICE CREAMS/EAT WELL DISTRIBUTION (FULL-TIME & PART-TIME)

Food Sample Demonstrator, Food/Product Demonstrator

A sister-company to Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Eat Well Distribution works with emerging food producers that offer unique, high-quality, delicious grocery items. Eat Well Distribution Brand Ambassadors spread the word about Eat Well’s clients around the country by doing in-store food demonstrations and providing samples while sharing information about the brand and product. They prepare and demonstrate the products while offering samples coupled with facts and information to increase knowledge.

Eat Well Distribution requires Brand Ambassadors to transport themselves and their equipment to a variety of retailers in their area.

We’re particularly interested in Ambassadors in the following locations:

  • Washington DC/Northern Virginia
  • New Jersey
  • Pittsburgh, PA

Ambassadors will:

  • Introduce customers to brand by sharing information about the brand and samples of product
  • Become familiar with a variety of products and provide demonstrations and samples from ice creams to pizzas to jerky
  • Participate in demos for special events offered by stores
  • Improve appearance of products on shelves
  • Set up and clean up space after the demonstration
  • Follow guidelines and procedures to ensure each sampling event is executed properly

ERP Project Manager

Team Jeni’s is looking for an ERP Project Manager to help us on our continued mission to make better ice creams.

Our ERP Project Manager will lead all processes, strategies and initiatives related to Plex, our ERP system.  She or he will work with our leadership team to ensure our ERP solutions meets the needs of all of our departments now and as we continue to grow. This includes:

  • Ownership over the development and implementation of standard ERP interaction processes company-wide
  • Training of employees on ERP-related job duties
  • Troubleshooting ERP-related problems and handling communication between team Jeni’s and Plex
  • Managing the interaction of processes across multiple Jeni’s departments to ensure a common end goal
  • Reporting to our leadership team on the effectiveness of our current system/processes and proposing changes to make it better

The Jeni’s Fulfillment department is a vital part of the Jeni’s team, delivering ice cream to our scoop shops and shipping ice cream to our retail partners.  To be considered for the position, a valid drivers license with no felony charges and no more than two moving violations in the last two years is required. Must either have a class A or B cdl endorsement or be ready to obtain one through our company. This will include pre-employment and random drug screening as well as a DOT physical. Should posses the ability to operate and stay focused in below freezing environments for extended periods of time and be able to lift 50-80 pounds regularly and routinely.  Summer hours will be required from 6:00am to 2:30pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm.   An eye for detail when considering work equipment and vehicles, processes and safety, previous experience with large powered work equipment a plus. Brains, trustworthiness and a positive attitude will be prized. Full time employee status, earning $11.00/hour for the first month. After a successful completion of the probationary period the wage increases to $12.00/ hr. 30-40 hours a week, must be available to work weekends. Some out of town travel is required, and often includes an overnight stay.

NASHVILLE EVENTS SHIFT LEADER

Our Nashville events team is expanding and we’re currently hiring Events Shift Leaders to oversee events, manage scoopers/ambassadors, and help serve our loyal customers in the greater Nashville area.

We prefer candidates with previous events/brand ambassador experience, but we are willing to train candidates with flexible schedules and whom have the desire to learn the job while working hard.

Hours:

Hours vary, but the majority of hours worked will be during evenings and weekends. (*This role requires a flexible evening/weekend schedule.*)

A Must:

An Events Shift Leader must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. A motorcycle license—or willingness to obtain one—is a plus.

Quality and Development Specialist

Team Jeni’s is looking for a world-class dairy/ice cream scientist to help us on our continued mission to make better ice creams.

Our new Quality and Development Specialist will be proficient with all aspects of ice cream production, equipment, dairy and ice cream science. She or he will be responsible for a number of important functions across our R & D and Production departments, including:

  • Ownership of the development of new ice creams, macaroons, sauces and WJCUWN (whatever Jeni comes up with next) in order to ensure that what we’re making tomorrow is always better than what we made today—both new collections and existing flavors
  • The creation and implementation of an active internal quality audit program to ensure every scoop of ice cream that leaves our kitchen lives up to the Jeni’s standard
  • Assisting in the successful transition of flavor recipes between our R & D and Production teams
  • Project-based recipe alterations to help increase consistency and improve the texture and body of the ice creams.

SHIPPING TEAM

The Shipping Team is in need of help.  Our team ships the world best ice cream to the world best customers on a daily basis. We are looking for people that can work in sub-zero temperatures, have a strong sense of urgency and an eagle eye for detail.

Duties:

  • Pick/pack orders in Freezer
  • Construct our cardboard boxes
  • Lift 70lbs +
  • Take and maintain inventory levels

Hours are approximately 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday with overtime opportunities and weekend ships during peak times. Starting pay is $9.00/hr. Position is in Columbus, OH.
