3/18 update from Jeni

We have learned, in times like this, when words are not enough, to fall back on our values and to let them lead the way. For us, that means facing into what comes, as a fellowship united by our values of community, equality, love, and hard work. The health and safety of our employees, customers, and communities is our top priority, and we have been making decisions with our hearts on the most vulnerable and at-risk of our population, and with the best available information—while at the same time fighting for Jeni’s to survive. 

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, our scoop shops will be closed indefinitely. With significantly reduced operations, we have to significantly reduce our team. There is nothing more we would like to do than to continue to pay team members who are not able to work because of this shutdown. We will do this as long as we can sustain for our full-time team members. Impacted part-time team members will receive two weeks of pay, our best help in obtaining government assistance through the shutdown, and our best efforts for the company to survive and to be able to offer meaningful amounts of work and pay again.

We will continue to offer our ice creams during this shutdown via local delivery from jenis.com/localdelivery (or your favorite delivery app), through shipping to homes at jenis.com, and through retailers with whom we have long worked. We hope that everyone will hunker down for a bit so that we can emerge on the other side of this, and Team Jeni’s can get back together—ready to bring people together again.
