1) NASA TRAVEL POSTERS

With wind chills in the 20-below range here in central Ohio, it’s time to Orbitz ourselves to Kepler-16b, one of three “exoplanets” (planets that orbit a star other than our sun) depicted in a series of vintage-style travel posters by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

As The Guardian put it: “If ever there was a destination worthy of a winter getaway, then it’s Kepler-16b, ‘the land of two suns’.”

You know all about Austin’s SXSW. But if you don’t know about this, you must: the Austin Psych Fest, May 8-10 at Carson Creek. The Black Angels, the Jesus & Mary Chain, Spiritualized, L.A. Witch, the Oh Shees? Oh, yes.

3) THAT ONLY THREE DAYS REMAIN ‘TIL KROLL SHOW

Kroll Show, starring comedian Nick Kroll and his band of alter egos (Ref Jeff, Bobby Bottleservice, et al.), returns for its third—and—damn it!—final season Monday on Comedy Central. Bring on the “Ahmeezing,” Liz “Nick Kroll” G.

4) PIMENTO CHEESE SANDWICHES

If you’re planning to forget your new year’s resolution to “eat clean” or “paleo” or whatever this week, do it deliciously and destroy a pimento cheese sandwich. White bread slathered with a pâté of shredded cheese, mayo, and diced red pimentos—come on now, that’s the way to do it. And while you do it, know that the north has now reclaimed ownership of the origin of this proof of God’s existence. That’s right, southern friends. Pimento cheese isn’t southern at all.

5) BUCK’S & DUCKS HYPE WEEK!

It all comes down to this: The Ohio State University Buckeyes vs. the University of Oregon Ducks on Monday night. Our favorite debate all week in the news? How the Ducks’ non-green uniforms will affect the outcome of the national championship.
