1) OSU VS. OREGON
We can’t decide what we liked more about Monday’s OSU/Oregon championship game, the outcome (sorry, friends in Oregon), Ezekiel Elliott’s crop top (Lantern photo below), or the hilarious End of Days clouds in this video (fun begins at the 15 second mark).
2) LIVING IN SAN FRANCISCO MEANS . . .
Team Jeni’s just spent some quality time in San Francisco, accepting Good Food and Leadership awards and spreading the love Street Treats Truck-style. Great timing, Mr. Broke-Ass Stuart, with your pithy piece, Living in San Francisco Means . . .
3) RARE ROCK PHOTOS
Every now and again—like, say, this week—this pic of Kurt Cobain/Nirvana will pop up in my social media stream. It’s by Midwest concert photographer jfotoman, taken in 1991 in Columbus, Ohio’s Stache’s (R.I.P.), just a couple weeks after Nevermind was released. That time of a band’s evolution when a gal can sit on stage and stare right into the lens while the main man wails into a roadie-steadied mic? The best time.
4) THE FUTURIST COOKBOOK
With news of Read and Eat opening this spring in Chicago, we’ve had obscure cookbooks on the brain. Read and Eat, please set aside a copy of The Futurist Cookbook (1932), by Italian poet and editor Filippo Tommaso Marinetti. Brainpickings reports: “The Futurist Cookbook was a serious joke, revolutionary in the first instance because it overturned with ribald laughter everything ‘food’ and ‘cookbooks’ held sacred: the family table, great ‘recipes’, established notions of goodness and taste.”
5) THIS CAR
Why did anyone ever think we needed to design and build another vehicle of any kind after this one rolled off the line? Perfection. Thanks for sharing the photo of this heavenly Subaru, Eagle Freek.
