At Jeni’s, the health and safety of our employees, customers, and communities is our top priority. As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis continues to evolve, we are continuing to evolve our response as a company. With our hearts on the most vulnerable and at-risk in our population, we want to provide you with the details about the precautionary steps we are taking to ensure our scoop shops are clean and safe.
We have already doubled down on our cleaning and sanitizing protocols in our shops to help prevent the spread of germs, including paying heightened attention to frequently touched surfaces. When our ambassadors aren’t serving customers or washing their hands, they are continuously cleaning.
Starting today—and for the immediate future—we are implementing Contactless Service (Level 2 in the infographic below). In order to eliminate the possibility of direct touch between employees and customers, we are modifying operations in the following ways:
- No flavor sampling
- No cone service (scoops come in compostable bowls only)
- No cash payments
- Point-of-sale touchscreens get wiped down after every use
Any offering that has to be handed directly from an employee to a customer and that can’t be set down for the customer to take is being suspended.
We have worked hard over the years to create a remarkable customer experience in our scoop shops, and while unlimited sampling of flavors and buttercrisp waffle cones are a core part of the Jeni’s experience, we are taking extra precautions—safety first.
For anybody who is unable to visit their neighborhood scoop shop, please know that you can order on-demand local delivery of our ice cream through jenis.com/localdelivery. There’s no delivery fee when you order four pints or more.
