We can’t believe it either, but the major player holidays are straight ahead. Which means, of course, that it’s time to shine a light on our Splendid Holiday Collection: (from left to right above) Cinderella Pumpkin, Dark Chocolate Peppermint, Sweet Potato with Torched Marshmallows, and Middle West Whiskey Eggnog.
Long-time Jeni’s fans will recognize these flavors as perennials that return to the menu at this time every year. We’ve been making pumpkin ice cream for a long time now, but this year we’ve really ratcheted up the creaminess, the richness, and those familiar warming spices. Cinderella Pumpkin takes its new name from the heirloom pumpkins we get from Hirsch Fruit Farm, just down the road from our Columbus kitchen. Read all about this fairy tale story here.
As for our eggnog ice cream, it has a new name: Middle West Whiskey Eggnog is named after one of the ice cream’s main ingredients, Middle West Spirits exquisite OYO Bourbon Whiskey, Michelone Reserve. This ice cream is custardy, boozy heaven, and from where we’re sitting a dram or two of that fine Michelone Reserve on the side is always just what the doctor ordered.
Dark Chocolate Peppermint? ‘Tis the season. Every chocolaty bite, every chocolaty lick is like a rush of invigorating cool air. And Sweet Potato With Torched Marshmallows—each batch of this stuff is a work of handmade, edible art (when you see the video you’ll know what we mean).
