The annual, world-wide event Record Store Day is dead-ahead: Saturday April 19.
To sweeten the always-festive atmosphere in some of our favorite independently-owned shops, we’re making the good stuff available to you.
In Columbus, complimentary Salty Caramel Indies (mini pints) will be available—while limited supplies last—at these spots:
- ELIZABETH’S RECORDS (doors will open at 9 a.m.)
- LOST WEEKEND RECORDS (doors will open at 9 a.m.)
- RECORDS PER MINUTE (doors will open at 8 a.m.)
- SPOONFUL RECORDS (doors will open at 8 a.m.)
- USED KIDS RECORDS (doors will open at 10 a.m.)
Record Store Day, the biggest day of the year for indie record shops, has always featured special releases from local to internationally known bands. In 2008, Record Store Day’s first year, there were a handful of special releases. This year more than 400 Record Store Day-specific albums, CDs, and cassettes will be available from Jack White and Dinosaur Jr. to Bruce Springsteen and LCD Soundsystem.
Everyone involved with Record Store Day does a stellar job of celebrating the do-it-yourself spirit of music and the art of distributing it to the masses. It’s always a party, with full slates of in-store performances and great food and drink.
We’ll see you there.
Salty Caramel Indies, ready to roam the aisles with you during Record Store Day 2014.
