This summer, we’re partnering with the wonderful folks at Banner Butter—a small-batch, cultured-butter company in Atlanta—to release the best backyard BBQ, grass-grazed dairy goodness collection you will ever find.
Fire up that grill and invite over the neighbors because your outdoor entertaining game is about to get a whole lot cooler. The Grill & Chill collection is perfect for long weekend gatherings, gifting to the grill master you know (hint: Father’s Day is around the corner), or for simply taking that midweek grill session up a notch. The collection features four of Jeni’s favorite warm weather ice creams: Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Brandied Banana Brûlée, Lemon Buttermilk Frozen Yogurt, and Salty Caramel. Plus, four flavors of Banner Butter’s slow-cultured, batch-churned butters: Sea Salt, Smoked Sea Salt, Lemon Chive, and Roasted Garlic, Basil, and Parsley. What you do with all this goodness made with fresh dairy from grass-grazed cows is up to you. But we have a few ideas. Recipes below!
We love Drew and Elizabeth from Banner Butter for their commitment to making real butter the way it should be—in small batches and with lots of patience. They don’t cut corners or rely on butter flavorings to amplify taste (the way many large-scale manufacturers do). Banner Butter starts with fresh, butterfat-rich cream from grass-pastured cows, which they allow to ripen for hours—a process that allows good bacteria to form; the very bacteria that gives butter its complex undertones. Their flavorful cream is then slowly churned into butter in small batches, hand-cut, and packaged. A time-consuming process, sure, but the drop-dead gorgeous flavors are worth it.
