Jeni has been making some version of Cocoa Curry Coco since her early days churning ice cream inside the North Market. Back then, she called it Gucci Muu Muu because the ingredients are both decadent and exotic, and they evoke a colorful pattern. No matter the name, Cocoa Curry Coco has always reminded Jeni of a great candy bar—creamy milk-first chocolate, complementing flavors, a little texture. We start with milk chocolate ice cream loaded with Fair Trade cocoa and a touch of honey. Then season it with a beautiful soft curry—a blend of fragrant spices like turmeric, coriander, cardamom, and fenugreek (which smells a lot like maple sugar)—and finish with coconut flakes for texture and flavor.
