LOS ANGELES EVENTS AMBASSADOR

Our LA events team is expanding and we’re currently hiring Events Team Leaders to oversee events, manage scoopers/ambassadors, and help serve our loyal customers in the greater LA area. We prefer candidates with previous events/brand ambassador experience, but we are willing to train candidates with flexible schedules and whom have the desire to learn the job while working hard.

Hours:
Hours vary, but the majority of hours worked will be during evenings and weekends. (*This role requires a flexible evening/weekend schedule.*)

A Must:
An Events Team Leader must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. A motorcycle license—or willingness to obtain one—is a plus.

Desired Characteristics & Abilities:

  • A genuine love for ice cream (and, in general, good food) so that your enthusiasm exudes while talking to event goers about Jeni’s. We want people to know the Jeni’s story–and the impeccable ingredients that go into our ice cream.

PREP & BAKERY TEAM MEMBERS - COLUMBUS

Jeni’s is seeking team members to start immediately in our production kitchen and bakery. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. The starting pay for this position is $9.50/hour. Once 90 days is completed, qualified team members will be eligible for medical benefits as low as $20 a month as well as an increase to $10.00.

Prep and Bakery Team Members will be familiar with what distinguishes Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams from other ice creams; able to provide consistent, world-class work with every single batch; exhibit passion for teamwork, an eye for detail, a willingness to clean, stamina, and the ability to work in an exciting, fast-paced, and cold environment.

Prep and bakery employees will be expected to carry out the day to day production duties such as cooking sauce, burning sugar, piping comings and fluffing crisp. Team members will be expected to do work inside the freezers and coolers at the kitchen and bakery.

Bakery specific duties include stuffing ice cream sandwiches, heat-sealing bags and packaging boxes. Team members are expected to stand for 6 to 8 hours at a time and lift 20-40 pounds.

All employees will be required to follow all food and personal safety guidelines outlined by our OSHA and HAACP programs. In addition, employees will be expected to fill out any logs or forms for regulatory purposes on a daily basis.

Required Qualifications:

Desired Qualifications:

  • Food safety knowledge or previous experience in a food production facility or kitchen
  • Experience with medium to large production and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to deliver the high quality product over a period of time

Inventory management skills or previous work with an inventory management system

Shifts vary depending on demand and seasonality. Mandatory overtime may be scheduled to meet production demand.

PURCHASING MANAGER - COLUMBUS

You’ll be responsible for leading the team that procures ingredients for the best ice cream in the world, supplies for our scoop shops and packaging materials for our shipping team.

You’ll identify and evaluate viable vendors in support of our new product development and other marketing initiatives.

You’ll be involved with maintaining and evolving our co-manufacturing strategy to align with our product and sales strategies.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and developing co-manufacturing sources of supply that meet our co-manufacturing strategy.

You’ll develop co-manufacturing policies and procedures that outline best practice guidelines and promote the highest professional and ethical standards.

You’ll work with team members to manage vendor relationships including but not limited to: cost analysis, negotiation, contracts management and performance metrics.

You’ll ensure that raw materials, supplies and packaging materials are replenished in a fashion that optimizes inventory investment and cost, but ensures that the inventory is available when needed.

You’ll communicate both short term and long range plans to Jeni’s vendor base and ensure that the vendors are capable of supporting our growth or evolving strategy.

You’ll ensure that the appropriate internal customers are apprised of relevant changes in vendor strategy and capabilities.

You have 5+ years of experience in purchasing with 2+ years of supervisory experience.

You have experience managing co-manufacturing relationships.

You have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

QUALITY SUPERVISOR - COLUMBUS

Come be the Quality Supervisor at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. This person will have an eye for detail and a proven track record of promoting Quality and Food Safety. They’re known to be scrappy in getting results and will approach their jobs as if they were the owners of the company.

They will assist the Quality Leader in developing procedures and programs related to Quality and Food Safety. The Quality Supervisor will also assist in the execution of the quality program by testing products for compliance to specifications and monitoring compliance to our GMP and HACCP programs.

As a Quality Supervisor, you’ll need to have experience:

  • Performing and evaluating microbiological swabs of the facility.
  • Performing and evaluating product testing to determine compliance with Jeni’s quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues on the floor related to quality and food safety.
  • Assisting the Quality Leader in the development of procedures and programs related to Quality and Food Safety.
  • Keeping upper management apprised of quality and food safety issues as they arise.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have B.S. in food science, microbiology or related field or equivalent experience
  • Have at least 2 years experience in Food Quality Assurance.
  • Have experience in developing procedures and programs related to GFSI certification
  • Be able to lead projects/people, motivate team members and proactively anticipate and address issues
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • An affinity for Sweet Cream ice cream in your morning coffee
